WHAT'S NEW
The Stop TB Partnership Secretariat and HCP organized a TB Advocacy, Communication, and Social Mobilization consultant's workshop in Cairo , Egypt from April 5-7 2005 at the El Gazirah Hotel.

The workshop provided an opportunity for advocacy, communication and social mobilization (ACS) consultants and partners to: develop a common framework for advocacy, communication, and social mobilization programming at the country level; familiarize themselves with the technical requirements for drafting GFATM proposals; and, be oriented to specific countries that will receive assistance with proposal development.
Following the workshop, participating consultants are expected to be deployed to selected countries to assist the Country Coordinating Mechanisms (CCMs) develop the communication component of the round five GFATM proposals for TB.
Invited participants include communication consultants from each of the WHO regions (including four consultants from the Eastern Mediterranean Region) and representatives from WHO (including one from EMRO), Massive Effort Campaign, KNCV, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), DIFID and other representatives of the STBP Advocacy, Communication and Social Mobilization Working Group.
